We'll get straight to the point: Today we ask you to defend Wikipedia's independence. Time is running out in 2019 to help us. 98% of our readers don’t give; they simply look the other way. We depend on donations from the tiny portion of our readers who give.

If everyone reading this donated just a little, we could keep Wikipedia thriving for years to come. The price of a coffee is all we need. It's a little awkward for us to ask you this, as we're sure you are busy and we don't want to interrupt you. But there's never an easy time to remind you that giving to Wikipedia supports a service you frequently use, and keeps a neutral internet alive and thriving.

When we made Wikipedia a non-profit, people warned us we'd regret it. But if Wikipedia became commercial, it would be a great loss to the world. Wikipedia is a place to learn, not a place for advertising. It unites all of us who love knowledge: contributors, readers and the donors who keep us thriving. The heart and soul of Wikipedia is a community of people working to bring you unlimited access to reliable, neutral information.

We know that most people will ignore this message. But our hope is that you’ll think about how valuable it is to have access to a source of open knowledge that's always ad-free, never tracks your data, and is never sold off to corporate big-wigs.

If Wikipedia provided you %MINIMUM% worth of knowledge this year, please take a minute to help keep it growing. Thank you.
